how long did you live in the dorms of uvic? would you recommend it?
I lived on campus for the first two semesters of my university career, but I got a chance to live in the three styles of buildings there: dorm, apartment, and condo style. Living on campus does really push someone out of their comfort zone, and it is a love/hate relationship. I honestly think that I will be friends with the people I met in first year, and I still am. What I loved is that you’ll be with other people going through the same motions and situations, while forcing someone to grow up so quickly. My home was at least 3 hours away, and so I really had to become comfortable to who I lived with.
After first and second year, I did have enough of living on campus, and I lived in a home with some beautiful people and has worked out for me. Living on campus was a make it or break it moment, since it can confirm whether or not this school was suited for you. I would recommend living on campus for the first year, and once you’re comfortable with your surroundings, you can go anywhere, really.
